On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the 12-year milestone of The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY), celebrating its pivotal role in uplifting the common populace through diverse beneficiary schemes.
In a social media post, he underscored achievements under initiatives like Antyodaya Yojana, Swachh Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat. Modi stated these programs aim to provide dignity and opportunities, particularly for the marginalized, driven by a mission to deliver development benefits to long-overlooked communities.
Highlighting technological advancements, the Prime Minister credited Direct Benefit Transfer systems with curtailing leakages and boosting governance trust. According to the Press Information Bureau, these efforts contributed to reducing rural poverty in India from 26% in 2012 to less than 5% in 2024, showcasing a significant social transformation over a decade.
