Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Shatrughan Sinha has dismissed speculation about his political future, categorically denying any intent to join a rebel faction or the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) amidst ongoing internal turmoil. In a conversation with ANI, the actor-turned-politician firmly pledged his loyalty to TMC leader Mamata Banerjee, committing to stand by her during challenging times.
Amid a widening rift in the TMC following poor results in the 2026 Assembly elections, Sinha emphasized his support for Banerjee, proclaiming, “I am with Mamta ji during this moment and have no plans to align elsewhere.” Meanwhile, 19 parliamentary members are seeking separate seating arrangements in the Lok Sabha, hinting at a possible party split.
Addressing the situation's complexities, Sinha defended the TMC's leadership from accusations while focusing on his commitment to Banerjee, stating, “Mamata Banerjee is my sole leader.” He also acknowledged past affiliations with BJP mentors but emphasized his current dedication to Banerjee and the TMC. The turmoil traces back to a May movement led by 19 dissenting MPs, including notable figures like Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi Roy.
