Thousands of devotees flocked to the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain to offer prayers and witness the divine Bhasma Aarti on Somvati Amavasya, coinciding with the sacred Purushottam (Adhik) Maas. From early morning, waves of devotion swept the temple, with pilgrims seeking the blessings of Lord Mahakaleshwar.

The Purushottam Maas holds special significance in Hindu tradition. Devotees believe that prayers and seeking darshan of Lord Mahakaleshwar during this auspicious period fulfill wishes and bring prosperity. With Somvati Amavasya falling on a Monday, a day sacred for Lord Shiva, the temple authorities reported a massive turnout.

Priest Akash Sharma noted devotees traveled from across the country for the Bhasma Aarti, hoping for happiness, prosperity, and wish fulfillment. The Mahakaleshwar Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, is significant for its unique Bhasma Aarti where Lord Shiva is worshipped with sacred ash.
