CRPF Hosts Blood Donation Drive to Boost Reserves and Support Amarnath Yatra

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a blood donation drive at Ramban's District Hospital to mark World Blood Donor Day. Over 10 volunteers from the CRPF 84 Battalion participated in the initiative. Commandant N Ranbir Singh emphasized the critical role of blood donations in saving lives and urged young, healthy individuals across India to contribute to blood banks regularly.
Singh highlighted that a single unit of blood can save three lives, underscoring its importance for patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatment, and those with chronic illnesses. He stressed the need for maintaining ample blood reserves to aid accident victims and others requiring emergency care. Singh called for increased voluntary donations to ensure a steady supply in blood banks nationwide.
In preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Singh discussed enhanced security measures and medical readiness in Ramban, a key transit point for pilgrims. CRPF medical teams, alongside doctors and paramedics with essential medicines, are on standby to address any emergencies during the pilgrimage, reflecting the commitment to ensure public safety and wellbeing.
