In a show of gratitude, servitors from the revered Jagannath Temple in Puri organized a civic reception ceremony to honor Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. This gesture followed his successful bid to remove the word 'Dham' from the Jagannath Temple located in Digha, West Bengal.

The event saw attendance from temple servitors, religious leaders, and notable figures like BJP MP Sambit Patra. Patra lauded both Majhi's efforts and West Bengal Leader Suvendu Adhikari's acceptance of the change, highlighting the significance of maintaining Puri as the primary seat of Jagannath worship.

Patra reflected on the longstanding controversy, recalling objections from devotees at the establishment of the Digha temple.
