Earthquake hits Southern California, no damages reported yet

An earthquake has hit parts of Southern California according to European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The earthquake measured 4.2 on the Richter scale but no damage has been reported yet. The epicenter of the quake was located 176 km northeast of San Diego at a depth of 8 km.

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Sunday morning as well. In the past 10 days, there have been 123 earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.

An average of 234 earthquakes with magnitudes between 3.0 and 4.0 reportedly occur per year in California and Nevada.
