Fatima Dangote, daughter of Africa's richest man, welcomes newborn baby

Fatima Dangote, daughter of Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, has welcomed a newborn baby girl with Jamil Abubakar, her husband, according to the local media organization, The Cable. The maternal grandfather of the newborn baby has reportedly left Nigeria for the US where Fatima has been put on bed rest.

The news has come around more than a year after they tied the knots in a grand wedding last year. Fatima Dangote got married to Jamil Abubakar, a pilot by profession and the first son of Nigeria's former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar, March last year in a wedding ceremony that became one of the most talked-about weddings.

The spectacular wedding was attended by those who matter around the world including Bill Gates, entrepreneur and second richest man in the world; Akufo Addo, Ghanaian president; and Mo Ibrahim, Sudanese-British billionaire businessman.

President Muhammadu Buhari; Bukola Saraki, former senate president; Yakubu Dogara, former speaker of the house of representatives, led top politicians to the wedding event.
