Polish president says virus cases seen rising until mid-Oct

Poland can expect further increases in coronavirus infections until mid-October, President Andrzej Duda said on Friday during a visit to the Vatican. In total the nation of 38 million people has registered 84,396 infections, including 2,392 deaths. "We do not have any risk of an explosion, there is an increase that has been forecast and we can probably expect that there may still be increases until mid-October," Duda told reporters.

Poland can expect further increases in coronavirus infections until mid-October, President Andrzej Duda said on Friday during a visit to the Vatican. Poland reported 1,587 new COVID-19 infections on Friday, the biggest daily number since the start of the pandemic in March. In total the nation of 38 million people has registered 84,396 infections, including 2,392 deaths.

"We do not have any risk of an explosion, there is an increase that has been forecast and we can probably expect that there may still be increases until mid-October," Duda told reporters.
