Rajasthan to Revamp Anganwadi Centers For Better Child Development
Rajasthan's Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Manju Baghmar, announced the development of model anganwadi centres akin to play schools in the state assembly. The initiative includes constructing 2,000 model anganwadis and 365 block-level centres, providing milk thrice a week, and increasing worker honorariums. Various child and maternal health services are being expanded.

Model anganwadi centres in Rajasthan will be developed similar to play schools, declared Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Manju Baghmar, in the state assembly.
The state government aims to ensure all-round development for women and children. During a debate on the demands for the Women and Child Development Department, Baghmar mentioned plans to build 2,000 model anganwadis and 365 model centres at the block level.
Children will receive milk thrice weekly at these centres, and schemes like Lado Protsahan Yojana will empower girls. The honorarium for anganwadi workers and assistants has been increased by 10 percent.
Following the discussion, the House passed the grant request for the department by voice vote.
Supplementary nutrition, pre-school education, vaccination, and health check-ups are provided through over 62,000 anganwadi centres under 365 child development projects, benefiting around 42 lakh pregnant and lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and children up to 6 years of age.
Nutrition panchayats have been established at the gram panchayat level. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, 85,500 women have benefited from the scheme, exceeding the target of 50,000. Rs 959.70 crore has been transferred to 26.35 lakh beneficiaries thus far.
