NSDC International Partners with Sompo Care to Train Indian Nurses for Japan
NSDC International has signed an agreement with Sompo Care Inc. to train Indian nursing care personnel and integrate them into Japan. This pilot project will commence from August 2024, providing nine months of comprehensive training, including Japanese language courses, to 75 Indian nurses who will then work in Japan's nursing care sector.
NSDC International, a subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has signed an agreement with Sompo Care Inc. to provide training programs for Indian nursing care personnel, facilitating their integration into Japan.
Set to commence in August 2024, the pilot project will run through 2025, according to NSDC.
Sompo Care will develop bespoke training programs, supplemented by Japanese language courses from NSDC International.
In response to Japan's growing need for care personnel due to an ageing population and falling birth rate, Sompo Care and NSDC International have teamed up to address these challenges by preparing Indian personnel for the nursing care sector in Japan.
The initiative includes nine months of comprehensive education and training in India, followed by placements at Sompo Care facilities in Japan.
Approximately 75 nurses will undergo the training, with costs estimated at Rs 90,000 per person.
''This collaboration allows us to enhance the skills of Indian nursing care personnel, preparing them for opportunities in Japan. Together, we aim to bridge the healthcare services gap and support global demand for skilled nursing professionals,'' said NSDC CEO and NSDC International MD Ved Mani Tiwari.
Sompo Care's Representative Director, President and CEO Takamitsu Washimi added, ''We hope that those who complete the training will work with a sense of fulfilment and pride in Japan's nursing care sector.''
