Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj announced on Tuesday that the mpox patient admitted at LNJP Hospital is in stable condition.
Bharadwaj conducted a surprise inspection to evaluate hospital readiness for mpox and dengue. He reported, 'The confirmed mpox patient has a travel history and likely contracted the disease abroad. The patient is isolated in a separate ward and remains stable.'
The 26-year-old patient from Hisar has genital ulcers and skin rashes without fever. The Health Ministry stated that there's no immediate public risk and this is an isolated case. Bharadwaj stressed that mpox spreads through contact, not through the air, urging people not to panic. Meanwhile, LNJP Hospital, equipped with 20 isolation rooms, is prepared for cases, with additional hospitals on standby.
