Global Initiative Aims for a Lead-Free Future

Pahle India Foundation joined the Global Consortium: Partnership for a Lead-Free Future at the UN General Assembly in New York. Led by Dr Indu Bhushan, the initiative seeks to combat lead poisoning, a major health threat affecting children globally. Dr Indu Bhushan and Dr Atul Gawande launched ''Partnership for a Lead-Free Future'' at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23, 2024. This event marks a significant milestone in the global fight against lead poisoning.

Pahle India Foundation (PIF) expressed its honor in joining the Global Consortium, aimed at tackling the pervasive issue of lead poisoning, which affects millions of children. Initiated by USAID and UNICEF, this consortium highlights the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration to address a critical public health crisis.

Representing PIF, Dr Indu Bhushan emphasized the foundation's commitment to protecting children's health in India, where 275 million children face high exposure to lead. With international partnerships, PIF aims to accelerate the reduction of lead exposure, ensuring a healthier future for the nation's youth.
