Enhancing Security Dynamics at AIIMS: A Holistic Approach

Dr Shailendra Kumar, an AIIMS anaesthesiology professor, has been appointed as the officer in-charge of security services at the institute. This role aims to improve coordination between the security department and patients, faculty, and students, ensuring a comprehensive approach to security deployment and related policies.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has appointed Dr Shailendra Kumar, an additional professor of anaesthesiology, as the officer in-charge of security services. This strategic move is aimed at bridging the coordination gap between the security department and its main stakeholders: patients, faculty, and students.

An order issued on February 11 highlighted the vision behind this decision, outlining Dr Kumar's role as an integral link to ensure that the needs of these groups are fully addressed in security policy planning and implementation.

This appointment enables Dr Kumar to attend all committee meetings where the security chief is a member or chair, fostering comprehensive security dialogue and planning at AIIMS.
