In a distressing incident in Odisha's Gajapati district, two young sisters succumbed to suspected food poisoning after consuming 'sattu', a nutritious flour meant for underweight children, provided by a local Anganwadi Centre.

Hailing from Tulasi Nagar in Ramgiri village, the deceased sisters, aged six and three, encountered tragedy on Sunday, officials reported. The elder sister died en route to the hospital, while the younger died during treatment. Their father's condition remains critical, as per reports from the MKCG Medical College Hospital.

While investigations are ongoing, authorities have temporarily halted the distribution of 'sattu' pending test results on the suspected batch.
