The district administrations of Jajpur and Bhadrak have issued orders following an increase in diarrhoea cases. Schools across Odisha, excluding Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, are set to reopen on June 20 after the summer break.

School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond stated collectors have been empowered to decide on reopening schools in Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Cuttack based on conditions. Monitoring and preventive measures are in place, with a focus on providing safe drinking water and food at schools.
