Congo announced on Monday the conclusion of its 16th Ebola outbreak, marking a significant milestone in the nation's public health battle. This recent outbreak resulted in 53 confirmed cases and 43 fatalities.
Minister of Health Roger Kamba, speaking in Kinshasa, highlighted the critical role of vaccination efforts in curbing the spread, with over 27,000 individuals receiving the vaccine, including 4,000 frontline workers.
Despite this success, challenges persist in the Central African country, including ongoing conflicts with the M23 rebel group and other health threats like cholera and mpox.
