An alarming incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district when a woman, Hemlata, was forced to give birth in an e-rickshaw after ambulance services failed to reach on time. Her husband, Sarvesh Kumar, struggled to procure medical assistance even upon reaching the hospital.
The event took place in the Kotwali Dehat area as Hemlata, residing in Mohliya Shivpara, went into labor. Despite repeated calls for an ambulance starting from 10 am, no assistance arrived, leaving her husband to seek alternative transportation.
The urgency of her condition prompted Sarvesh to rush Hemlata to the hospital in an e-rickshaw, during which she delivered the child near Anand Cinema. Further hurdles awaited them at the hospital, where the absence of a stretcher delayed immediate medical aid. Hospital officials have now ordered an investigation, pledging corrective measures.
