In a distressing revelation, four children suffering from thalassemia have been diagnosed as HIV positive at Satna District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh. The alarming discovery is reportedly linked to contaminated blood transfusions, according to officials speaking on Tuesday.
The incident, now four months old, is under investigation by authorities. Officials speculate that either infected needles or tainted blood transfusions are the primary culprits responsible for transmitting the virus to the young patients.
Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rajendra Shukla announced an official probe into the tragic occurrence, while the Opposition has intensified calls for accountability, demanding Shukla's resignation over alleged healthcare mismanagement.
