Hyderabad's H-FAST: Combatting Food Adulteration

Hyderabad's newly formed H-FAST team has arrested over 60 individuals involved in the production and sale of adulterated food, such as ginger-garlic paste and iconic Osmania biscuits. This crackdown aims to enhance food safety, with measures led by the city's police commissioner and praised by the Chief Minister.

Authorities in Hyderabad, in conjunction with the newly formed H-FAST (Hyderabad - Food Adulteration Surveillance Team), are making significant strides against food adulteration. Over 60 arrests were made in March as the team targeted untoward food manufacturers, including producers of Hyderabad's famed Osmania biscuits.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, supported by Food Safety Officers, spearheads this initiative to bolster public health standards. Telangana's Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy applauded these efforts, emphasizing the vital need for dedicated food safety mechanisms.

The operation unearthed numerous cases of adulteration across various food products. The offenders were found using harmful chemicals and low-quality raw materials, posing significant health risks. With a zero-tolerance policy, H-FAST continues to crackdown on offenders, ensuring safe consumables for the population.
