Former Ambassador of India to the United States and BJP leader Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday condemned the assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald Trump. Sandhu emphasized that there is no place for violence in a democratic system. "The elections in every democratic nation are complex. This assassination attempt will divert the attention of people away from the political race for a while," he stated.

Sandhu particularly criticized the attack on Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump, reiterating that violence has no space in any democratic nation. He noted that political parties are expected to start nominating their candidates in the next two to three weeks, further heightening tensions.

"As the parties begin announcing their candidates in the upcoming weeks, the political atmosphere will become charged with palpable tension," said Sandhu. Condemning the attack on Trump, he added, "In a healthy democracy, people don't use violent means to achieve their goals."

Following the assassination attempt on Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, foreign affairs expert Robinder Sachdev commented on the intensifying political divisions in the United States. "Violence can never be the answer, but sometimes it reveals the underlying animosities," said Sachdev, addressing the escalating tensions. The incident, where Trump narrowly escaped a fatal gunshot, has raised alarms about the volatile climate in American politics.

"The divides in America are extraordinarily deep right now, with both sides feeling immense anger and fear," observed Sachdev. "Republican conservatives are very afraid of the Biden Democrats, and similarly, the Democrats and the left fear what Trump might do if he returns to power." Sachdev provided this analysis to ANI on Monday.
