US President Joe Biden has condemned Donald Trump's speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC), describing it as a 'dark vision for the future.' Biden, who has been isolating at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home after testing positive for COVID-19, vowed to return to the campaign trail next week to 'save democracy.'

In a statement released on Friday, Biden criticized Trump's Thursday night RNC remarks for focusing on personal grievances rather than plans to improve the lives of working Americans. 'Last night the American people saw the same Donald Trump they rejected four years ago. For over 90 minutes, he focused on his own grievances, with no plan to unite us and no plan to make life better for working people,' Biden asserted.

Amid mounting calls for him to drop out of the race, Biden continued to express confidence in defeating Trump. Several Democratic politicians, including Senator Martin Heinrich and four House Democrats, have urged Biden to reconsider his re-election bid. Despite this, he remains determined to challenge Trump and expose the former president's 'Project 2025' agenda, which he claims poses a threat to American democracy and freedoms.

Biden also echoed the sentiments of his campaign chair, Jen O'Malley Dillon, accusing Trump of flaunting 'the worst of MAGA extremism' without mentioning his controversial policy plans. Meanwhile, Trump, who launched his presidential campaign at the RNC with a speech in Milwaukee, accused Democrats of harming the country with endless subpoenas and reiterated his commitment to making America great again.

Trump also endorsed his running mate, Senator JD Vance, during the convention, emphasizing his intention to be a president for all Americans. 'I am running to be President for all America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America,' Trump declared, accepting his nomination and promising a new era of peace and prosperity.
