A devastating rocket attack on the Israeli-occupied town of Majdal Shams resulted in 12 fatalities and 19 injuries, according to The Jerusalem Post. The assault, reportedly carried out by Iran-backed Hezbollah, targeted a soccer field near a playground on Saturday evening.
Among the deceased are children and teenagers aged 10 to 20. The wounded, including six in serious condition, three moderately injured, and ten lightly injured, were swiftly transported to hospitals by emergency services. Some victims suffered from anxiety attacks and required medical attention on site.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) identified the launch origin as an area north of Chebaa in southern Lebanon. Maj.-Gen. Ori Gordin, alongside other high-ranking officials, conducted situational assessments and visited the impact site. Following the attack, the Magen David Adom (MDA) urgently called for blood donations to support the treatment efforts. Authorities also activated alarms in the surrounding regions, and police are managing multiple impact sites.
