In Detroit on Thursday, US Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her eagerness to debate former President and Republican nominee Donald Trump on September 10. Speaking to reporters at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Harris said, "Well, I'm glad that he's finally agreed to a debate on September 10."
Harris further solidified her stance on social media, posting on X, "I hear that Donald Trump has finally committed to debating me on September 10. I look forward to it." She reiterated her anticipation about the prime-time debate on ABC News.
According to CNN, Harris mentioned, "I'm glad that he's finally agreed to a debate on September 10th. I'm looking forward to it, and I hope he shows up." However, she did not confirm participation in any additional debates proposed by Trump.
Fox News host Jesse Watters revealed that the network is still waiting for a response from Harris's campaign regarding Trump's proposed debate on September 4. Consistent with her campaign style, Harris has not conducted a sit-down interview since declaring her candidacy but assured reporters that an interview is forthcoming.
Trump, during a Mar-a-Lago press conference, stated, "I look forward to the debates because I think we have to set the record straight." His campaign clarified that debates are scheduled with ABC on September 10, NBC on September 25, and Fox News on September 4.
The September 10 debate in Philadelphia will be moderated by ABC News anchors David Muir and Lynsey Davis, with broad streaming and broadcasting access, as confirmed by an ABC spokesperson.
At his Mar-a-Lago address, Trump criticized Harris for not engaging with the media since becoming the Democratic candidate, saying, "She hasn't done an interview. She can't do an interview. She's barely competent. She's not smart enough to do a news conference." (ANI)
