U.S. House passes bill to reopen some agencies, including Interior, EPA

The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday passed legislation to end a 21-day partial government shutdown at some federal agencies, including the Interior Department and Environmental Protection Agency, that was sparked by a battle over President Donald Trump's demand to build a wall on the southwest border.

By a vote of 240-179, Democrats won passage of the measure, despite opposition from Trump and warnings from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Republican, that he would not bring the legislation up for a vote. (Reporting by Richard Cowan; Editing by David Alexander)
