An activist from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Amjad Ayub Mirza, has spoken out against the violent crackdown by the Pakistani state on peaceful Baloch demonstrators, students, and women. He also criticized Punjab's political leaders for their silence and complicity.

In a video statement, Mirza condemned the lack of involvement from human rights advocates and parliamentarians from Punjab in the Baloch Yakjehti Committee protests in Islamabad, now ongoing for three weeks. He highlighted the oppressive state actions against the Baloch Women's Forum conference in Gwadar and the detention of its organisers.

Mirza revealed concerning details about a police operation at Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad, where over 29 Baloch students were detained. Describing the situation around police stations as "curfew-like," he accused the police of profiling and harassing protesters, sparking fears among students.
