Report: Nets G LeVert to return Friday

Three months after being stretchered off the court with a scary leg injury, Brooklyn Nets guard Caris LeVert will reportedly make his return Friday night against the visiting Chicago Bulls. LeVert dislocated his right foot while contesting a shot by Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Josh Okogie on Nov. 12 in Minneapolis.

LeVert started Brooklyn's first 14 games, averaging a career-high 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The New York Post first reported Thursday that the third-year player would be available on Friday.

The 24-year-old's return comes at a fortuitous time for the Nets (29-27), who have lost four of their past six games and enter Thursday's action in sixth place in the Eastern Conference. --Field Level Media
