Kyiv and its European Union allies are urging U.S. President Donald Trump to solidify his commitments to Ukraine during discussions in Davos, according to Politico Europe. Just days prior, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted Russia's substantial losses, claiming over 1,000 Russian soldiers have been killed daily since December.
Zelenskyy described the conflict as "madness," calling for the United States, Europe, and international partners to unite in halting Russia's aggression. He underscored the international community's failure to thwart aggressive regimes, urging collective efforts to end the conflict.
The meeting coincided with a significant Russian attack on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, resulting in casualties. President Trump had previously suggested that peace talks were nearing completion, either resolving the conflict or prolonging it. During talks in Florida, he expressed optimism for a deal, citing a productive prior discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
