Jacob Helberg, the United States Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, praised India for joining the Pax Silica Declaration on Friday. He emphasized the declaration's significance in transforming economic security into national security, countering coercion, and safeguarding nations' prosperity.
Speaking at the declaration, Helberg stated, "We observe our allies confronted with economic coercion, forced to choose between sovereignty and prosperity. The Pax Silica declaration is a stand against weaponized dependency and blackmail, reinforcing that economic security equates to national security." He elaborated on building a supply chain that underpins prosperity and advances AI utilization.
Helberg lauded the efforts of US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, for enhancing US-India relations. This alliance marks a significant step in the US-led Pax Silica, aimed at securing AI and supply chain integrity, coinciding with the Global AI Impact Summit in New Delhi.
