India-Nepal Collaboration Lays Educational Foundation for Growth

The Indian Embassy announced the laying of a foundation stone for Shree Basuki Secondary School in Nepal's Achham district. This initiative, funded by India's 38 million Nepali Rupees, exemplifies the nations' ongoing infrastructure cooperation underpinned by historical and cultural ties.

The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has revealed that the foundation stone for constructing a new school in Nepal's remote Achham district has been laid, signifying another step in India-Nepal cooperative efforts. The school, Shree Basuki Secondary School, is set to receive funding from the Indian government amounting to approximately Nepali Rupees 38 million.

The ceremony was jointly conducted by Narayan Singh, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, and local official Jwala Singh Saud, Chairman of Mellekh Rural Municipality. This initiative forms part of the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme, aiming to improve local infrastructure and growth through sustained partnership efforts.

Officials highlighted this project as a testament to the deep-seated partnership between India and Nepal, anchored by historical, cultural, and economic ties. The collaboration follows the principles of the 1950 Treaty of Peace and Friendship, fostering open borders and extensive mutual trade, with India consistently taking a lead role in regional development and infrastructural support.
