The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has issued an urgent plea for the safe recovery of Abdul Rauf, a resident reportedly taken during an enforced disappearance in Chagai district, Balochistan. According to The Balochistan Post, Rauf was seized in the early hours of May 29 by individuals believed to be part of Pakistan's Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies.
The family of Abdul Rauf, a member of the Yousafzai tribe, remains in distress, unable to ascertain his whereabouts. VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch expressed serious concern, noting Abdul Rauf had previously disappeared in 2018 under similar circumstances, only to resurface after two and a half years.
VBMP has criticized the breach of constitutional protections, urging authorities to present Abdul Rauf before a court and honor his legal rights. The organization appeals for intervention from federal, provincial, and judicial bodies to resolve this case and tackle the pressing issue of enforced disappearances in the region.
