In a significant development in international relations, India and Slovakia signed a crucial Letter of Intent (LoI) on defence cooperation on Monday. The agreement was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a joint press briefing with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava, marking a historic advancement in their bilateral ties.

The strategic partnership aims to foster joint development and production efforts within the defence industries of both countries, underlining a mutual strategic vision and deep confidence. Additionally, an MoU on labour migration was unveiled to promote professional mobility between the two nations. PM Modi announced the elevation of India-Slovakia relations to a 'Comprehensive Partnership', celebrating his historic visit as the first Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia.
