Belgium calls for activation of EU blocking statute to protect ICC

​Belgium ‌has called for ​the activation of ‌the EU blocking statute to protect the International ‌Criminal Court, Belgium's ‌Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said on Friday, ⁠after ​US ⁠President Donald Trump's administration announced ⁠sanctions on the court.

"Belgium ​strongly condemns the ⁠new US sanctions against ⁠the International ​Criminal Court," Prevot said ⁠in a post on ⁠X.
