Penguins agree to six-year deal with Tanev

The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to a six-year, $21 million contract with free-agent winger Brandon Tanev on Monday. The deal puts Tanev under contract with the Penguins through the 2024-25 campaign. He spent his first four NHL seasons with the Winnipeg Jets.

The 27-year-old Tanev established career bests for goals (14), assists (15), points (29) and blocked shots (81) last season. The blocked shots ranked third among NHL forwards. Tanev has 51 career points (24 goals, 27 assists) in 195 NHL games.
