POLITICS-U.S., UK bond stronger than one individual -State Dept

The United States and United Kingdom have a "special relationship" that is bigger than any one person, the State Department said on Wednesday, following the British ambassador's resignation after critical comments by President Donald Trump.

"The United States and the United Kingdom share a bond that is bigger than any individual, and we look forward to continuing that partnership. We remain committed to the U.S.-UK Special Relationship and our shared global agenda," a State Department spokeswoman said.
