Police cop's son thrashes girl, video goes viral on social media

The Delhi Police has registered a case against the son of their own colleague after the video of the boy beating a woman went viral on social networking sites.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Monika Bhardwaj said, "a stern action" has been taken against the accused Rohit Tomar, son of Delhi Police Sub-Inspector Ashok Singh Tomar, as reported by PTI.

@DelhiPolice has taken stern action, a case under section 354/506 IPC has already been registered against Rohit Tomar. Further action is being taken to arrest him.

According to police, the video was shot in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar on September 2. The video was shared on different social media and goes viral.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh directed Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik over the phone to take action against the accused and shared a tweet regarding the same.
