Three people were arrested and 45 others were booked for allegedly installing Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue on government land in the Rasda Kotwali area illegally, police said on Sunday.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Rasda Kotwali, Himendra Singh said a case has been registered against 10 named and 35 unknown persons under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Saturday and the police arrested three of the named accused on Sunday. According to police, a statue of Dr Ambedkar was illegally installed on government land in Lohta village of Rasda Kotwali area on Friday night. As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and removed the statue.
