1500 kg gutka seized in Erode, four persons held

The police found four persons engaged in loading some bags in a car and a van in front of a godown. They then searched the godown too, and seized a total of 83 gunny bags of the banned gutka weighing 1,500 kg. The police arrested four persons and seized the car and van.

The Anthiyur police here on Monday arrested four persons and seized 1,500 kilograms of gutka from them.

According to police, they received information that the banned substance, gutka, was being hoarded in Sembulichampalayam village located on the Bhavani-Anthiyur main road, and conducted raids in the area. The police found four persons engaged in loading some bags in a car and a van in front of a godown. On checking the bags, they found gutka in it. They then searched the godown too, and seized a total of 83 gunny bags of the banned gutka weighing 1,500 kg. The police arrested four persons and seized the car and van. They are searching for the kingpin of operation.
