Biden to discuss Haiti, economic ties with Dominican Republic's president on Thursday

U.S. President Joe Biden will discuss the security situation in Haiti and deepening bilateral economic ties with his counterpart from the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, during a meeting on Thursday at the White House, the White House said.

The Dominican Republic announced in October new measures to strengthen control at its border with Haiti amid a dispute with its neighbor over the construction of a canal from the Massacre River, which straddles the border between the two nations.
