Belgium to sell 5-year and 8-year bonds in December - Belgian Finance ministry

Belgium will sell five-year and eight-year bonds in December - not one-year bonds as the government did in August - Belgian Finance Minister Vincent Van Peteghem's cabinet said on Friday, confirming Belgian media reports. In September, Belgium raised a record 21.9 billion euros ($23.65 bln) from savers in the sale of the one-year bonds, that had been designed to compete with bank deposits.

The new auction will take place on Nov. 30, paper De Tijd reported.
