The annual conference of state Director Generals of Police (DGPs) will be held at the convention facilities at the Statue of Unity in Narmada district of Gujarat, the state government said Friday.

The statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Kevadiya in Narmada district, believed to be the tallest statue in the world, was inaugurated last month. The site also has a convention hall and related facilities. The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20, an official release said.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani visited the Statue of Unity complex Friday to review preparations for the conference, it said. The three-day national conference will also be attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, it added.

The last conference had been held at BSF Academy at Tekanpur, Madhya Pradesh in January 2018.
