US State Department OKs potential sale of F-16 jets to Turkey for $23 billion

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of F-16 fighter jets and related equipment to Turkey in a deal valued at an estimated $23 billion, the Pentagon said on Friday, after Ankara approved Sweden's accession to NATO.

The Pentagon said Lockheed Martin was the principal contractor.
