The fire broke out at 4 pm on Friday due to an electrical short-circuit at the paint factory located in Kakkalur industrial estate. Among those tragically killed were workers identified as B Suganthi, 55, B Parthasarathy, 51, and G Pushkar, 37. A passer-by, E Srinivasan, 37, also succumbed to injuries sustained when a section of the shed collapsed. The factory and adjoining premises were severely damaged, and an investigation is currently underway with the factory owner detained.
