Tragedy at Damoh: Baby Killed in Railway Station Attack

An unidentified man attacked a couple and their two-and-half-month-old baby at Damoh railway station. The baby tragically died in the incident. The couple had alighted to seek medical help for the infant. A murder case has been registered, and the police are actively investigating the crime.

An unidentified man launched a brutal attack on a couple and their infant at Damoh railway station in Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the tragic death of their two-and-half-month-old baby, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The incident, occurring around 5 am, has been registered as a murder case, confirmed Mahesh Kori, the in-charge of the GRP post. The victims, Lekhram Adivasi, his wife, and their baby, had travelled from Delhi on the Gondwana Express and disembarked at Damoh station to seek medical attention for their unwell child.

While the mother was giving water to the infant, the unidentified attacker started assaulting the family. In a desperate bid to fend off the attacker, Adivasi picked up a brick. However, the baby succumbed to the injuries from the attack. The complainant alleged the GRP personnel's inaction, forcing him to call the police helpline. Authorities are now scrutinizing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator.
