Inferno at Delhi Food Processing Unit: 3 Dead, 6 Injured

A fire engulfed a food processing unit in Delhi's Narela Industrial Area, resulting in three deaths and six injuries. The blaze, triggered by a gas leak, caused an explosion within the factory. The facility, Shayam Kripa Foods Private Limited, lacked proper safety measures and necessary documentation.

In the early hours of Saturday, tragedy struck the Narela Industrial Area in Delhi, as a fire broke out at a food processing unit, killing three workers and injuring six more. The unit, operated by Shayam Kripa Foods Private Limited, processes dry moong dal.

Delhi Police reported receiving a distress call at 3:35 am. The fire, exacerbated by a gas leak, trapped workers inside the factory. Fourteen fire tenders battled the blaze, managing to extinguish it by noon. Nine people were rescued and rushed to local hospitals.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire stemmed from a gas leak in one of the pipelines, which supplied gas to burners used for roasting moong dal. As the flames spread, they overheated a compressor, leading to an explosion that caused significant structural damage.
