Stable Line of Control Amid Foreign Terror Threats

The situation along the Line of Control remains stable, as confirmed by a senior Army officer on Sunday. Lt General Rajiv Ghai, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Army 15 Corps, assured that security agencies are taking all necessary measures to uphold this stability.

Speaking at the Bipin Rawat Stadium in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district during an event to honor Kargil War veterans on the 25th anniversary of Vijay Diwas, Lt General Ghai emphasized the continued efforts of security forces. He remarked, 'The situation on the borders is stable. Whatever is needed to keep the situation stable will be done by the security agencies.'

Addressing concerns about foreign terrorist activity in the Union Territory, Lt General Ghai corroborated Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain’s statement about the presence of 70 to 80 foreign terrorists. 'As far as the numbers are concerned, the DGP has stated a fact,' he said. DGP Swain had previously indicated a shift from local to foreign terrorism, with the easing numbers of local terrorists now being replaced by foreign operatives who infiltrate with weapons and explosives.
