J&K Governor Vows Justice After Terror Attack on Pilgrim Bus

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha vowed to bring justice after a terror attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district, which killed nine and injured 41. He assured immediate medical aid and compensation for the victims’ families while a joint anti-terror operation is under way.

In a stern response to the brutal terror attack in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha vowed on Monday to ensure justice for the victims. The nefarious attempt to spread turmoil in the region witnessed nine deaths and 41 injuries when terrorists fired at a bus carrying pilgrims, forcing it off the road and into a deep gorge.

"An unfortunate incident occurred yesterday evening, leading to the tragic deaths and injuries," Sinha said during his visit to the Government Medical College, where some of the injured are being treated. A coordinated anti-terror operation by police, CRPF, and the Army is underway, with Director General of Police R R Swain overseeing the efforts on the ground.

Sinha emphasized, "Our immediate priority is saving lives. The administration has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh each to the next of kin of those killed and Rs 50,000 for the injured." Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah are closely monitoring the situation, backing Sinha's resolve to prevent further unrest. The lieutenant governor also visited the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital to inquire about the condition of other victims and assured that comprehensive medical care will be provided.
