46th Regional Contingency Committee Finalizes Offshore Security Plans

The 46th meeting of the Regional Contingency Committee (West) convened to evaluate security measures and contingency plans for offshore platforms along India's west coast, the Navy reported on Friday.

Chaired by Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command, the June 20 meeting included representatives from the Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, ONGC, Customs, police, and various state and central agencies.

The Indian Navy, as the principal agency for maritime, coastal, and offshore security, oversees these reviews biannually. Special emphasis during this session was on monsoon preparedness to ensure rapid and effective responses to potential natural disasters.
