President Murmu Urges Action Against Democratic Disruptors

Addressing Parliament, she emphasized the need for global collaboration to address the misuse of technology against humanity and to prevent the nation from weakening.

President Droupadi Murmu has cautioned against the disruptive forces that conspire to weaken democracy and create social fissures, urging new strategies to tackle this growing challenge.

Speaking at a joint session of Parliament, Murmu highlighted the alarming rise of misinformation and rumour-mongering, both from within and outside the country.

'In this communication revolution era, disruptive forces are misleading the people, undermining democracy,' she stressed. 'This situation cannot be allowed to continue unchecked. India has voiced these concerns internationally, advocating for a global framework to prevent the misuse of technology against humanity.'

'It is our collective responsibility to halt this dangerous trend and to seek innovative solutions to safeguard our democracy,' she concluded.
