Indian Army Refutes No-Compensation Claims for Fallen Agniveer Ajay Kumar

The Indian Army has debunked social media claims that no compensation was provided to the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar, who died in the line of duty. The Army clarified that Rs 98.39 lakh has already been paid, with the remaining amount to follow, countering assertions made by Rahul Gandhi in Parliament.

On Wednesday, the Indian Army categorically denied social media claims suggesting that no compensation had been provided to the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar, who lost his life in service.

The Army confirmed that Rs 98.39 lakh out of an approximate total of Rs 1.65 crore had already been disbursed to his family, countering allegations made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in a video posted on X.

The controversy began after Gandhi accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of misleading Parliament regarding compensation given to martyred Agniveers' families. The Army emphasized its commitment to the welfare of soldiers' families, including those of Agniveers, and reaffirmed that the remaining dues would be settled soon.
