Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today interacted with 181 Officer Trainees of the IAS 2022 Batch, currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various Ministries and Departments, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi.

During the interaction, several officers shared their training experiences. Prime Minister Modi recalled his previous meeting with them during the Aarambh programme in 2022. He emphasized that the Assistant Secretary programme aims to provide young officers with experiential learning opportunities, from the top to the bottom of the administrative hierarchy.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted that New India demands proactiveness and rejects a lackadaisical approach. He urged the officers to strive for excellence in governance, quality of manufacturing, and quality of life for all citizens. Citing schemes like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and PM Awas Yojana, he advocated for a saturation approach to ensure social justice and prevent discrimination. He challenged the officers to decide whether they will act as speed breakers or superfast highways in service delivery, encouraging them to be catalytic agents of change and to find satisfaction in witnessing the transformation.

Emphasizing that "Nation First" is more than just a slogan but his life's mission, PM Modi called on the officers to join him in this journey. He advised them to look forward rather than dwell on the accolades received after their selection as IAS officers.

The interaction was also attended by Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Personnel); Shri P. K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister; Shri Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary; and Shri A.K. Bhalla, Secretary (Home and DoPT), along with other senior officers.
